TRYKA'S TASTIES...THE WEEKEND EDITION

Needless to say, Virginia Tech-BC was not exactly the best way to start the weekend. But here are 3 more to ease the pain:

South Florida -3.5 at North Carolina – Simply put, UNC is a horrible, horrible team. They are 1-4 on the season with their lone win coming against 1-AA Furman 45-42. They have been giving up points in alarming numbers to the tune of 35.4 per game. USF is a program on the rise coming into this contest at 4-2 with a 38-16 win over UConn. S Florida runs a pretty balanced attack that will have its way with the Tar Heel’s D. Look for the Bulls to send UNC to their 2nd defeat of the year versus the Big East.

Denver -15 vs. Oakland – Well the numbers are finally catching up to Oakland as they enter Denver as huge underdogs. I am a little hesitant to lay this much lumber on a team that is coming off a short week after a tough MNF contest and has trouble scoring. However, we have two things going for us here. First and foremost – Oakland is absolutely terrible and will make Denver look like an offensive juggernaut. Second, Mike Shanahan hates the Raiders and will not hesitate to run up the score. The Broncos win this game big.

New York Jets -2 vs Miami – Am I missing something here? Why are the Jets only favored at home by 2? Do people still believe Miami is a potential playoff team at 1-4? Granted, NY looked bad last week at Jacksonville losing 41-0. But, I still think the Jets are playing better than the Fish. I can’t see Joey Harrington having much success, particularly with an O-Line as bad as the Dolphins. The Jets always play well against Miami. Look for New York to grind out a win against their Division rival that will surely have the home faithful chanting J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!
